West Ham and Leicester City show why they are top six contenders

West Ham may have drew to AFC Bournemouth in a hard fought game on Saturday, but their early season form has been something to certainly take notice of. While Leicester City performed like a "mini Manchester City' as they demolished Newcastle United and left the Toon Army reeling. They both showed exactly why everyone is looking towards them to break into the top six over the likes of Wolves and Everton.

Last season if you were picking from West Ham, it was Lukasz Fabianski or no one. It was all about his save points and clean-sheets. He was the goalkeeper of choice for many a Fantasy manager. This year, to start though, not so much. It's ok though, West Ham's outfield players are certainly making up for it performing well throughout the start seven weeks of the season to start.

Felipe Anderson, Aaron Cresswell and Andriy Yarmolenko are the players of choice from West Ham, well, definitely Anderson and Yarmolenko, but if you do not have the funds for either of these two, then Aaron Cresswell is your go to man. At the minute, Teemu Pukki is keeping myself from bringing in Sebastian Haller. Nine points in their first seven games, which including a well deserved win at home to Manchester United, served to allow more and more people to take notice of Manuel Pellegrini and West Ham.

West Ham play a 4-1-4-1 formation and it allows West Ham to move from defence to attack at a quick pace. This was shown at its highest level when they brought Norwich City back down to earth and left Teemu Pukki goalless possibly for the first time this season. West Ham are an exciting side, especially at the start of the season, it will be exciting to see what happens with them going forward.

Leicester City on the other hand are doing their best impression of Manchester City settling in third position so far. Brendan Rodgers has Leicester City rocking, playing the attacking football that the Foxes fans became so accustomed to under the Italian, Claudio Raneiri. Leicester City secured an empathic 5-0 win over a hapless Newcastle United side over the weekend and to be honest, Leicester looked amazing, while Newcastle looked totally off the pace.

Leicester City have had an amazing, fast start to the season, securing third place so far on 14 points, just behind last season's top two, Liverpool and Manchester City. It allowed Gary Lineker to tweet this tweet.

Players from Leicester City should be definitely picked up for your FPL side looking ahead. To be honest, I am thinking about activating my wildcard, ok I will wait on Manchester United vs. Arsenal to see how Aubameyang performs. In the next five games, Leicester face Liverpool, Burnley, Southampton, Crystal Palace and Arsenal.

Players like Jamie Vardy, Calgar Soyuncu, Ricardo Pereira and James Maddison have been performing well so far for the Foxes' and will continue to perform well. Jamie Vardy should be in many a FPL side because he is over-performing his numbers and FPL price tag. Soyuncu is a great replacement for the departed Harry Maguire, he has slotted into that defence and made his place in it, his own.
